Animals of the Earth A great variety of animals were created on the fifth day of the earth's existence; approximately 4115 BC.  The newly created animals of the earth were given their names by Adam, the very first man on the earth.  God brought all the animals before Adam, to share his excitement in naming them, and to rejoice in what he would call them. There is no one living today who can repeat the names of all the animals, unless they have devoted much time to serious learning and to the training of their memory. Of course, Adam did not have this problem.
