Our Attraction to Nature

There is much to understand regarding our mysterious attraction to the beauty and comfort of nature.  The real reason people are attracted to the outdoors, to remote camping spots, to hiking trails and the surrounding scenery, though most don't realize it or consider it, is that it is God’s call to the spirit of men and women and children.  We were formed from the dust of the earth.  This Scriptural teaching has been proven true by modern science, in that all of the chemicals in our human bodies are found in the very dust of the earth!  Since we are of the earth, it is therefore natural to be inspired by the beauty of it and to feel the lure of it.  It is the call of an ancient voice from Eden which God allows us to sense in our spirit.  It is one of the methods He uses to get our attention, that we might truly seek Him out.  He is in every rock, every tree, every plant, and in every grain of sand, pebble, or dirt on and along the trail. He formed all these things.  To hear Him through the sound of your hiking shoes against the terrain is a gift.  To seek Him out is an honor He bestows on those who consider Him through these things.  This is the mystery, the wee small voice behind our attraction to the wild and beautiful...
